ABOUT US

The Dundee & District Table Tennis Association, established in 1937, is constituted to promote, develop, and control the sport of table tennis within the Dundee and District area (including north Fife). The Association is one of several throughout Scotland affiliated to the national body, Table Tennis Scotland, and thereby to the International Table Tennis Federation. The Association was granted charitable status by the Scottish Charities Regulator in September 2015 (reg. no. SCO45977).

D&DTTA has a formal constitution, rules and chidren’s and vulnerable person protection policy. Office-bearers and Management Committee members - all volunteers - are appointed at each Annual General Meeting. Through the year, business is conducted via regular meetings of the Management Committee and its sub-committees.

Our table tennis players span the entire age and ability range, from primary school to ‘very mature’ adult! You may register as a playing or non-playing member of the Association on payment of the appropriate fee, but all playing members must also be affiliated to Table Tennis Scotland. In addition, each player is a member of one of the many table tennis clubs in the area. The clubs have one or more teams, each of three or more players (although only three play in a fixture), playing in a league and cup competition structure organised by D&DTTA from September to the following March. There are also local, regional, and national tournaments for individual players and teams.

The Association runs a table tennis coaching and development programme and has strong links with member clubs and other organisations, some of whom also run their own coaching programmes for youngsters and adults. Coaching qualification courses follow the UK Coaching Certificate standards. Our regional coach, assisted by other Association members, helps to bring the game to young people within Dundee's primary and secondary schools. D&DTTA also hosts the Tayside Schools Qualifier tournament each year.
